After receiving his training at Mikkeli Technical and Vocational College, he started his surveying career in Finland before moving to Washington in the 1990s. Since then, he has lived in Edmonds WA, providing the local community with his expertise. Before setting off on his own, Jouni gained technical experience and additional training while working for several firms, including D. R. Strong Consulting Engineers and Hammond Collier Wade Livingstone. In 2008, he founded Acreage Land Surveying LLC to provide superior services to the greater Seattle area.
Jouni and his family continue to run ALS as a small, mom-and-pop operation that seeks to serve many of its existing clients while also taking on new ones on a daily basis. As we grow, we continue to strive to do business with honesty, quality, and efficiency. It is our goal to ensure that every client feels they made the right decision choosing ALS for their surveying and planning needs.
Our RTS allows for remote operation, shifting our energy from manually putting in angles and distances to more important tasks like calculating and verifying measurements.
We utilize survey-grade receivers to establish location points. With GPS, we can receive data without a clear line-of-sight, which enables us to work in challenging, remote, and large sites more efficiently.
Our surveying software assists in the process of converting data collected in the field into a 2D map that legibly conveys angles and distances between a series of points.
Given our size and transitory business model, we cannot justify a physical location, however we often meet with clients near our home base of Edmonds, WA, or over the phone/email. Our client base is all over northwest Washington. Currently, we are providing our services for both residential and smaller commercial projects in Kitsap, Skagit, San Juan, Island, and predominantly in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties. This being said, rates may increase for parcels located further from us.
